Dr. Lenetta Boyce is a consultant Musculoskeletal and Trauma imaging Radiologist with specialist expertise in post mortem imaging. She holds a substantive UK consultant appointment at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Alongside this she also has a special interest in post mortem CT having completed a postgraduate diploma in imaging for natural and forensic death investigation at the University of Leicester. Dr Boyce has since reported thousands of PMCTs and continues to be actively involved in the delivery of high quality PMCT reporting services within the UK coronial system collaborating with coroners, pathologists and other members of the multidisciplinary team to help deliver accurate and timely diagnoses.
Her work also extends internationally as a member of the International Society of Forensic Radiology and Imaging (ISFRI) guidelines working group having been involved in the publication of several best practice white paper publications.
With combined NHS and coronial experience and a passion for training and teaching, Dr Boyce contributes to the delivery of robust, scalable CT post mortem services, promoting strong governance and reporting standards.
Jim Simpson BMedSci MRCS FRCR is a consultant radiologist and has worked as a consultant since 2007, initially at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust (2007–2014) and since 2014 at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
He has extensive experience in CT post-mortem reporting, which he has specialised in since 2017 following initial training in Leicester and is well recognised as the UK’s most experienced CT postmortem reporters. He has reported over 8,100 cases and has been actively involved in supporting the development of CT post-mortem services in new centres nationally, including advising coroners and providing practical assistance during service set-up.
In recognition of his expertise, Jim was appointed Postmortem CT Advisor to the Royal College of Pathologists’ Death Investigation Committee in 2023, contributing to shaping national standards and best practice.
His work has also featured in the television series Cause of Death, which showcases the coronial services in Lancashire and the vital role of CT post-mortem in investigating deaths in the community
Peter Kralt is consultant neuroradiologist working in various European countries, including at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. He completed his medical and radiological training in the Netherlands and has been practising in the field of post-mortem and forensic radiology for more than 8 years.
He has been involved in more than 4000 cases. Peter co-authored “Post Mortem CT for Non-Suspicious Adult Deaths – an introduction” published with Springer in 2021
He has contributed to national guidance including the Royal College of Pathologists autopsy guidance.
He completed the Bolton Coronial Law Course and has a special interest in osteology and the application of PMCT in forensic anthropology and disaster victim identification. He is a UK medical examiner (RCPathME) and has a specialist radiology license to practice in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Iceland.
Dr Smitha Rajaram is a Consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where she has worked as a consultant since 2014. She is a core member of the Sheffield Pulmonary Hypertension Unit, one of the largest specialist centres in Europe, delivering advanced CT and MRI services for complex cardiopulmonary disease.
Alongside her substantive NHS practice, Dr Rajaram has been involved in CT postmortem imaging since 2020, contributing specialist expertise to coronial death investigation and imagingled postmortem pathways. Her experience supports accurate assessment of cardiopulmonary causes of death within multidisciplinary and coronial frameworks.
Dr Rajaram holds a Master’s degree from the University of Sheffield, with research focused on imaging, and is a widely published radiologist with significant contributions to peerreviewed literature, including major registrybased studies. She is a key contributor to major national and international research initiatives. Her work underpins evidencebased imaging practice and high standards of clinical governance.

Dr. Bridger is a retired General Practitioner with decades of experience in patient care guiding ethical practice and supporting families with compassion and clarity throughout the postmortem process and ethical decision-making. His role focuses on guiding the service in maintaining the highest ethical standards while ensuring families receive clear, compassionate communication during the postmortem process. With a strong background in clinical practice and a deep understanding of sensitive end-of-life issues, Dr. Bridger provides invaluable support in balancing governance, transparency, and empathy.
Dr. Chikthimmah is an experienced General Practitioner with Royal College of Pathologists (RCP) training to undertake the Medical Examiner role. He provides strategic advisory input on clinical governance, quality assurance, and policy development—critical pillars for maintaining credibility and sustainability in postmortem imaging services. His expertise ensures that our processes align with national standards, supporting transparency, ethical practice, and robust case review frameworks.
Dr. William Han is a General Practitioner with over 18 years of clinical experience and a background in extensive surgical training. In his role, he will support CTPM services by providing specialist guidance on information governance and data security within forensic and coronial pathways.
His role involves advising on the secure handling of postmortem imaging and related documentation, including image acquisition, encrypted storage, retention and disposal policies, and controlled access to deceased persons’ data. His governance input is aligned with GDPR, UK GDPR, and UK information governance principles, with particular emphasis on evidential integrity, auditability, and defensibility within coronial investigations.
Dr. Han will support development and assurance of secure, traceable processes for transferring CTPM images and radiology reports into coronial and forensic case management systems, helping ensure data flows are robust, compliant, and fit for legal scrutiny. Through the combination of clinical insight and information security expertise, he will contribute to CTPM services that are trusted by coroners, pathologists, and legal authorities.
